If you read my review of the first match, you know I think these guys don’t really have much chemistry. Well this was a FAR better match than their previous encounter. It probably helps that the crowd is a bit more familiar with Suzuki by this point, or that it felt like less of an exhibition than the previous match, but something clicked here.
Joe Coffey is one of a number of guys who I like better on paper than in practice. Big burly man that hits hard, what’s not to love? But for whatever reason he has yet to deliver a real breakthrough match. Now I am not saying this is his breakthrough match, but he showed some great fire against Minoru that is sometimes missing from his matches. This won’t win any match of the year awards, nor will it be in the top tier of Suzuki match we will watch in this project, but it’s a fascinating example of Suzuki bringing something out of a guy that has been lacking and that makes it alright with me.
