WWE has a few issues when it comes to recruiting announcers. Namely that they find someone photogenic and then try and get them to commentate. Rather than getting a commentator who can actually do the job. There are a lot of these ‘types’ in WWE like Tom Phillips and Percy Watson but the worst is undoubtedly David Otunga. When the votes came in it was a bit of a shock he had not ‘won’ by more. Given many chances to prove himself by WWE he found himself replaced at short notice due to his awful performances. When your commentary is too bad for WWE then you really do suck. Glen Joseph rather harshly finds himself in the top three, thanks to some writers disliking his ‘meme scream’ and habit of taking over the booth when better suited talkers (Matt Richards, Callum Leslie, RJ Singh) are left in the background. Ranallo almost made it into the top three here, despite also winning ‘best commentator’, proof that his commentary style is extremely divisive.
