Best Technical Wrestler:

  1. Zack Sabre Jr 18
  2. Timothy Thatcher 8
  3. WALTER 4
  4. Matt Riddle 3
  5. Kagetora 2
  6. Tyler Bate 1
  7. Masaaki Mochizuki 1
  8. KUSHIDA 1

This was the one award I knew the winner of before we even started voting. Sabre is a shoo-in for ‘best technical wrestler’ every year. The work he’s done in 2017 has only amplified his claims. He’s made his way into New Japan Pro Wrestling and has been every bit as good there as he has been in BritWres and the US Indies over the past five years. An outstanding technician, his mat work is superior to everyone else. Tim Thatcher got closest to toppling him but he wasn’t that close, he received a lot of second place votes. In a time for wrestling where everyone is aiming to be a ‘hybrid’ performer the few guys who are die-hard technicians tend to stand out for what they’re doing. WALTER completes the top three, thanks to an excellent year. It should surprise no one that wXw are producing some terrific in-ring talent when they’ve got WALTER and Thatcher at their academy.
